10 mile walk

Action on Hearing Loss. A national charity since 1911 – best foot forward campaign 10 mile walk with afternoon tea and cake: 15.10.16. Regents Park to Hyde Park.

The event was not about smashing your personal best but coming along and putting your best foot forward to raise money for Action on Hearing loss.

Did you know that a recent survey tells us that 1 in 4 deaf people have quit their job due to discrimination! Fundraising helps provide new opportunities.

Our director Rachel Hubbard pounded the pavements and trained for the event with her dog Pickle to tackle the task but unfortunately Pickle sustained an injury so Rachel marched on without her beloved friend.

Completing the circuit in 3.5hrs Rachel managed to raise £185 from well-wishers.

One wrote on her just giving wall: “You’ll do anything for cake you Mary! Love your commitment to the cause. Be thinking of your while I’m at home on the sofa, hope it’s not raining! Go girl and pooch”
