If you are looking for make new friends, use your sign language skills and take the opportunity to help fellow D/deaf people living an enlightening, memorable and productive experience, then it's time to join a volunteering trip.
VoluntEars is an organisation that arrange trips to Nepal, Sri Lanka and Ghana. Most trips are 2 weeks long (but can be extended).
What are you going to do?
To help in local Deaf schools
To do activities with local deaf students
To help with some simple renovation work (painting classrooms etc).
You can also make time to explore the local country.
You can join as individual, with friends or as families.
