The Great British Dog Walk is an annual event in aid of the wonderful charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, they have sadly had to "paws" their Great British Dog Walk this year. Instead they are asking to walk with them... virtually!
At Deaf Umbrella we are all dog lovers and supporters of this wonderful charity and will join the Virtual Great British Dog Walk to help raise funds.
This year, you will only need to choose whatever walking route and distance that you like and suits your ability, and pick a date between Saturday 24th October and Sunday 8th November.
We have chosen Shorne Country Park on the October 31st in order to make Halloween barkworthy! Keep an eye in our social media channels to keep updated.
Why should you join this event?
By joining the Virtual Great British Dog Walk you will help them to raise funds and awareness to train more adorable puppies to change the lives of deaf people and get a free doggie bandana and other goodies! ☺
It costs around £40,000 to fully train and support a hearing dog for the duration of its life and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People relies on the support of donations.
Watch here how we enjoyed this event a few years ago... when we haven't heard about social distancing or needed to wear face masks everywhere... Seems an age ago now sadly!
We are asking our staff, work colleagues, family, friends and customers to get involved, share and let everyone know about this event. So, please, bring the whole pack and Happy HOWL-o-ween!
